સબસૈ બુરા (હે) માંગવા, યામૈં ફેર ન કાર;

sabasai burā (hē) māṁgavā, yāmaiṁ phēra na kāra;

'સબસે બડી ચૂપ બોલવા કરતાં-વિવાદ કરતાં ચૂપકીદી ભલી.'

'sabasē baḍī cūpa bōlavā karatāṁ-vivāda karatāṁ cūpakīdī bhalī.'

'સબસે બડી ચૂપ. ચૂપકીદી એ ડહાપણની નિશાની છે.'

સાડાસોળ આના સાચી છે.

સદ્ગુણને અળગા કરી, દુર્ગુણને ધરનાર; સમજવ્યા સમજે નહીં, મૂર્ખનો સરદાર.

સદ્ગુરુ પુરા ના મીલા, મુની અધુરી શિખ;

સાગરમે પાની ઘણો,

'સગી માનુ' પણ સોનું ચારનારો સોની....'

સગોજ જાણ્યો શ્વાસ, શ્વાસ પણ સગો નહીં;

sagōja jāṇyō śvāsa, śvāsa paṇa sagō nahīṁ;

સહાડી ને ખુદ્દી નાહી.

sahāḍī nē khuddī nāhī.

સહજ રસીલો હોય સો, કરે અહિત પર હેત;

sahaja rasīlō hōya sō, karē ahita para hēta;

સહસા, માયા, નિર્દયા, અશુચિ, અનૃત, જડ, લોભ; યહ દોષ વહાં સ્વાભાવિક, કયું નહીં સંગત ક્ષોભ.

sahasā, māyā, nirdayā, aśuci, anr̥ta, jaḍa, lōbha; yaha dōṣa vahāṁ svābhāvika, kayuṁ nahīṁ saṁgata kṣōbha.

સહત્ સંતાપ આપ, પરકો મિટાવા તાપ,

sahat saṁtāpa āpa, parakō miṭāvā tāpa,

સાહાઠે બુદ્ધિ નાઠી, સીત્તેર વરસનો ઘરડો, છોકરાં કહે કાં નથી મરતો ટરડો.

sāhāṭhē buddhi nāṭhī, sīttēra varasanō gharaḍō, chōkarāṁ kahē kāṁ nathī maratō ṭaraḍō.

સહાય કરી સુખ કોય

sahāya karī sukha kōya

સાહેબકા ઘર દૂર હય, જયસી લંબી ખજૂર;

sāhēbakā ghara dūra haya, jayasī laṁbī khajūra;

સાહેબકા ઘર દૂર હય, જયસી લંમી ખતૂર; ચડે તો ચાખે પ્રેમ રસ, ગીરે તો ચકરા ચૂર.

સજ્જન ખાત સ્નેહકી, પર મુખ કહી ન જાય;

sajjana khāta snēhakī, para mukha kahī na jāya;

સજ્જન ખાત સ્નેહકી, પર મુખ કહી ન જાય; મુંગેકા સપના ભયા, સૌ સમજ સમજ પરતાય.

સજ્જન મિલાપી બહોત હય, તાલી મિત્ર અનેક;

sajjana samaya giyārakē, apanē kulakī rīta;

સજ્જન સણ જગ સરસ હે, જળ લગ પછ્યો ન કામ.

સજ્જન તુમહી ચતુ૨ હે, કહા શિખ દેઉં તેઇ;
