બાલસૈ ખ્યાલ, બડેસૈ ગિરધ, અગોચર નારસૈ નહીં હસીએ,

બળતું ઘર કરશનને અરપણ કરવું, અથવા ભાડે લેવું.

baḷatuṁ ghara karaśananē arapaṇa karavuṁ, athavā bhāḍē lēvuṁ.

બમન હોકે ચોરી કરે, ત્રિધવા હોકે ચાવે પાન;

bamana hōkē cōrī karē, tridhavā hōkē cāvē pāna;

બમન હોકે ચોરી કરે, ત્રિધવા હોકે ચાવે પાન; સતિ હોકે રણસે હડે, ઉનકે જન્મ અકારણ જાન.

બાપ મરે બમણા આપવાની શરત.

bāpa marē bamaṇā āpavānī śarata.

‘બાપ તે બાપ માં તે મા. માના રંટીયામાં છોકરાં મોટા થાય પણ બાપની સાહેબીમાં મોટા ન થાય.’

‘bāpa tē bāpa māṁ tē mā. mānā raṁṭīyāmāṁ chōkarāṁ mōṭā thāya paṇa bāpanī sāhēbīmāṁ mōṭā na thāya.’

બાપની બૈરી કહેવા કરતાં મા કહીએ તો પાણી પાય.

બરી ફજર, હાલ્લીમે નજર.

‘બર્સ હોય સાઠ અક્કલ ગૈ નાઠ.’

બાત ન પૂછી કોય.

બાવન હજાર બાંધીઆ, ઘોડા ગઢ ગિરનાર; કેમ સહે સોરઠ ધણી, મોહણું દળ ખેંગાર.

bāvana hajāra bāṁdhīā, ghōḍā gaḍha giranāra; kēma sahē sōraṭha dhaṇī, mōhaṇuṁ daḷa khēṁgāra.

બે દિવસ રહે તે જમાઈ, વધુ દિવસ રહે તે ગધેડા

bē divasa rahē tē jamāī, vadhu divasa rahē tē gadhēḍā

બે ઘરનો ધણી ભૂખે મરે

bē gharanō dhaṇī bhūkhē marē

બે ખરાબ માણસો મળે એટલે જ ખોટાની શરૂઆત થઈ જાય.’

બેઠ્યાનું કપાય નાખ તો પણ નહી શરમાશે, કાંકને દેખાડે આંગલી તો તેનું મોત થશે.

bēṭhyānuṁ kapāya nākha tō paṇa nahī śaramāśē, kāṁkanē dēkhāḍē āṁgalī tō tēnuṁ mōta thaśē.

બેયં છાડયા પ્રાણ

બીબી બાયકે જપ, ને મીઆં દાદીઆ શોધે.

bībī bāyakē japa, nē mīāṁ dādīā śōdhē.

બીજ માવડી, ચુલે તાવડી, બે બળદ ને એક ગાવડી.

bīja māvaḍī, culē tāvaḍī, bē baḷada nē ēka gāvaḍī.

બીજે બેતિર દીવા,

bījē bētira dīvā,

‘બીજી ટાંગ ક્યાં છે ?’

‘bījī ṭāṁga kyāṁ chē ?’

bīkaṭa vāju.

બીલાડી નખળી હોય તે અપશકુનમાંથી તો ન જાય.

bīlāḍī nakhaḷī hōya tē apaśakunamāṁthī tō na jāya.

બિલત મોં ચિનવત નહીં, આગે ન કરે આશ;

bilata mōṁ cinavata nahīṁ, āgē na karē āśa;

બિન ગરજે ગરજે નહિ જંગલહુકૈ.

bina garajē garajē nahi jaṁgalahukai.

બિના જલ કુપ કહા, બિના તેજ ભૂપ કહા,

binā jala kupa kahā, binā tēja bhūpa kahā,

બિના કહેસે સતપુરુષ, પુરે પરકી આશ;

binā kahēsē satapuruṣa, purē parakī āśa;

બિના તેગકે શૂરવીર, કરે કહા જો ધાય;

binā tēgakē śūravīra, karē kahā jō dhāya;

'બોલવામાં સંયમ રાખવામાં આવે નહિ તો શું થાય ?'

'bōlavāmāṁ saṁyama rākhavāmāṁ āvē nahi tō śuṁ thāya ?'

બોલે સર્યા તો ગુરુ કુચ્ચા

bōlē saryā tō guru kuccā

બોલ્યા અબોલ્યા થાય નહિ

બ્રાહ્મણ ભટ લાડુ ચટ

brāhmaṇa bhaṭa lāḍu caṭa

બ્રાહ્મણ ભટ્ટ ને લાડુ ચઢ્.

બ્રાહ્મણ જાય વૈદુ કરવા, તે ગરુડપુરાણ સાથે લઈ જાય.

brāhmaṇa jāya vaidu karavā, tē garuḍapurāṇa sāthē laī jāya.

બ્રાહ્મણ કીધા જમવા ને ભવાયા કીધા રમના

brāhmaṇa kīdhā jamavā nē bhavāyā kīdhā ramanā

બ્રાહ્મણ રીતે લાડવે

brāhmaṇa rītē lāḍavē

બ્રાહ્મણને વંદન જ હોય.

brāhmaṇanē vaṁdana ja hōya.

બ્રાહ્ણ જળથી ઓસરે, ક્ષત્રી રણથી જાય;

brāhṇa jaḷathī ōsarē, kṣatrī raṇathī jāya;

‘બૂડાં ખરકત હોય હૈં.’

‘būḍāṁ kharakata hōya haiṁ.’

બુધવારના વાંથા

budhavāranā vāṁthā

બુઢ્ઢાને બાયડી પરણાવવી એટલે મડાને મીઠું ખાંધવાનું જ—બીબી થાય મીાં જોગ, ત્યારે મીાં થાય થાર જોગ.

buḍhḍhānē bāyaḍī paraṇāvavī ēṭalē maḍānē mīṭhuṁ khāṁdhavānuṁ ja—bībī thāya mīāṁ jōga, tyārē mīāṁ thāya thāra jōga.

(બ્યાનેક્તિ)-પરધન હરે, પરનિંદા કરે, પરનારી ઘરમાંહી;

(byānēkti)-paradhana harē, paraniṁdā karē, paranārī gharamāṁhī;
