નારી પૂછત સુમકું, કહાંસે બદન મલીન; કહાં ગાંઠસે ગીર પઝો, કહા ફાઉંકું દીન.

nārī pūchata sumakuṁ, kahāṁsē badana malīna; kahāṁ gāṁṭhasē gīra pajhō, kahā phāuṁkuṁ dīna.

Literally
Woman asks the miser, why is your body pale; why did the knot not open, why is the day spent in hunger.

A miser suffers physically and mentally because they refuse to spend their own money.
