jē guṇavāna manuṣya gaṇāya, kuḷamāṁ tē dīvā kahēvāya; hōya hajāra gaṇuṁ jara jōra, dīvā vinā aṁdhāruṁ ghōra.

Literally: He who is considered a virtuous man is called a lamp in the family; even if there is a thousand times the wealth and power, without the lamp there is deep darkness.
What it means: A virtuous person is the true light of a family, regardless of how much money they have.
